Timeline of railway history

Hi all,

In the LRD headquarters, we have looked at the history of the railways. Our focal point commenced at the very earliest of historical milestones, which was in 1801 as Trevithick built his Camborne road engine. Since that point in time, we have concentrated in various past events such as, GWR being formed, City of Truro, railways in the war and the introduction of the well known engines breaking records. Below is a timeline our team have produced of all of the significant events in the time of railway history that we have collaborated.

Shortly, we shall be producing video clips of our studies and reports starting with the timeline of the railways. Stay tuned for that and much more.

Many thanks,

The Locomotive Research Department
