Productive period at LRD HQ

Hi all,

It's been a constructive few weeks at the LRD Headquarters. Our Specialist Luke Thomas has been perfecting his "Railway Talks", imparting his extensive knowledge of railway history and facts using informative diagrams to illustrate his explanations as well as his great teaching stick!

In other news, Assistant Specialist/Railway Modeller Luke Thomas & Specialist/Railway Modeller Nic Thomas continued their work on the Locomotive Research Department's Model Railway, a.k.a Yorkton, which has made some headway since last time. A setting has been installed to enable the locos to switch onto a different track and to travel in a separate direction. Additionally, a third surrounding route has been inserted and has facilitated three running trains on the circuit for the first time! The model railway has started to be given an authentic look with the inclusion of scenic track features, like static grass and ballast.

You can see images and a video clip of this edition of the Model Railway development on our website, by hovering over the "Model Railway" tab on the top of our website, and clicking on "Characteristic Advancement". Alternatively, you can watch the video clip on YouTube, using the link below.

Best wishes,

LRD Team
