On the footplate of an Ivatt!

Specialist Luke Thomas was at the East Somerset Railway today where he spent the day driving and firing the Ivatt Class 2 2-6-0 no. 46447. It was an early start for Luke who climbed onto the footplate at 8.30am and was soon running the locomotive 'light' a long the entire route. He then did some fireman duties before taking the controls again and hauling four coaches for the full five miles. An experience to be remembered!
