LRD Specialist Luke Thomas was in Cardiff Central yesterday to see Black Five no. 44871 and Class B1 no. 61306 Mayflower haul a railtour run by Steam Dreams. The excursion came from Paddington, stopped off at Gloucester before arriving at the Welsh capital just ten minutes later than scheduled it was helped along by a Class 47 no. 47802 and the tour made a diversion to Barry Island. It returned to Cardiff at 6.00pm and departed for London ten minutes later. A nice surprise for Luke was being spotted by one of the stewardesses of the tour who remembered him from last year's Pullman trip (A4 Class Union of South Africa) London to Minehead. Many railway enthusiasts turned out for the day. A brill day!
